System Configuration

The DMS is a PC based computer application operating on a x64 architecture platform i.e. Windows 10. The application requires a connection to the internet to permit data transfer between the DMS and the VPS. Microsoft Excel must be pre-installed on the PC before the application can run if the “Run Manager” module is installed.
The PC as a minimum must have an intel i3 or compatible processor with a minimum of 4 cores. A PC with an i5 processor and 8 cores is recommended. The PC must be capable of supporting Ultra High Definition (UHD) graphics and a minimum storage space of 64GB.
The application is designed to display the train data on an UHD (4K) with a screen resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels. The information requires the display to be orientated in the portrait (vertical) position.

Software Deployment

The DMS application is deployed to the system PC by USB drive.

Contingencies

A DMS failure or application crash will not result in any loss of data. All application data is uploaded to the VPS and not stored on the local device.
In the event of a loss of comms with the VPS, the DMS PC designated at the “Master” workstation will save all train data to a local drive. When comms is re-established with the VPS, the saved data is automatically uploaded.
